ALL ABOUT ME: My Body

Whole group introduction
Activity 1:

Materials:

Camera
Chart
Paper
Velcro

Procedure:

Discuss the parts of the body and what each part can do. Encourage children to show you the parts as you discuss them. Ask children to imagine how things would be different if they didn’t have that particular part of their bodies (i.e. eyes, hands, ears, etc.)

Take pictures of students pointing to each major body part. After printing photos, have student identify the part of the body and what its purpose is. Record their words.

On a labeled chart, have students match the photos with the body part words. (Use Velcro on the backs of the names and photos so kids can use as a matching game later.)
